  A good example might be a sudden weight gain. You can diet and exercise, and that would be nice, but it won’t fix the problem with your thyroid gland. Any symptom that is typical of a thyroid illness should be approached in the same way. And remember, you may not have a lot of symptoms that point to hypothyroidism, but that is no reason to believe that your thyroid is functioning perfectly. If you experience any of the common symptoms, such as depression, weight gain or loss, stress, or fatigue to name just a few, make an appointment for an examination.

  Although there are many different symptoms associated with hypothyroidism, if you have any of them, your thyroid may not be functioning properly. You should never ignore symptoms that seem to indicate that you have a thyroid problem. This problem can actually affect other parts of your body, including your metabolism, blood pressure, and your ability to function. It is important to get treatment if you do have this condition.
